I was getting into my car yesterday, outside a store. I had a large bag with a pillow in it, and I was trying to push it behind my seat and into the back, and the bag snagged on the lever that lets the seat tip forward (2 door car).

I said under my breath, "damnit, get in there!"

About 10 feet away a black guy was on the phone, just in my peripheral vision. He spins around and screams, "What the f### did you just say!??" At first I didn't even realize he was talking to me. I had passed him a minute ago and saw he was on his phone.

As he started advancing towards me, cussing and calling me a racist * SOB, I realized he thought I had said, "damned ni####."

I didn't want to deal with this. By this time I was in the car and just peeled out and drove away.

God. Some people. I'm sorry if this guy thought I insulted him, but jeez, take a chill pill. If someone called me a name- even if insulting- I wouldn't start cussing in the middle of a parking lot and advancing toward him.

I didn't even have my CCW on me, it was in the glove compartment. If he had moved faster, I'd have potentially had a fist fight on my hands. Not that I'd want to draw on someone over a misunderstanding, but it just shows, dangerous world out there. [:(]
