I hear PS3's are the way to go for a blue ray player. It plays the games...and...blue rays.

I would pay TWICE what an item costs just so I didn't have to get out in the messy sale craziness.

ps3's do not give the best quality of picture with blu-ray, it's ok but not near as good as a dedicated player

not from the one i have seen, could have been the cables i don't know

besides i don't need a ps3 then i would never be able to watch tv, darn kids would hog it up, they have their own 60" with ps2, xbox360, but that wouldn't be good enough if they knew i had a ps3

How is this different from a $30 dvd player? Will it play regular DVDs?

I just saw this, so I have nothing to say.[:0]
I could do the same here, but don't need one, and no way will I get up at 3AM to go shopping.

I have a simple Sony upconverting DVD,.......does fine for me with the old comedy sets that I watch.

how its different: high resolution image with blacker blacks and brilliant colors and a sharper image. if you dont have a hi def tv, dont bother. the difference will be lost on you. the image you see will only be as good as the weakest piece in the system will alow.

yes, they will play standard def dvds.

i have both a stand alone bluray player and a ps3. i havent noticed a significant diff in playing hi def dvds between the two.

    Yea,.....I missed it.
Guess I am really tired tonight.

yep, i'm convinced once you go high def regular tv is as different as black and white vs color, you can see fingerprints on shopping channel ladies, i found out harry potter has a mustache, unbelievable color depth it's a real treat if your a tv/movie watcher, i can't wait to get "blue planet"

marc peg wishes i only took 10 minutes[:D]
