Aeorgarden.

Is this so called aerogarden really worth it or is it just a bunch of rubbish?

I heard it is somewhat difficult to control the pump and bulb cycles.
What do you guys think?

    I've had one for almost 10 years now. I enjoy it especially in the winter when my regular garden is dormant.

    i have had 2, not the led type but they work good till they break or the pump goes out

    the parts are expensive, i built my own for the cost of their bulbs

    they work off a simple aquarium pump and stone, the medium is a type of moss {i replaced with Hydroton stones}

    i can give you better details if you would like, i started with 1 i got at goodwill for 20 bucks, then progressed to a 8x8 room with several hydroponic buckets and 1,000 watt mh for peppers

    there are much much cheaper alternatives, if you dont need that useless wifi option , even cheaper aerogarden options

    you cannot grow much in the less the 1 cubic foot area, you will out grow that very fast

    I mostly use it to start seeds. And grow some herbs during the winter. I don't consider the seed kits as "parts". I refill the starter tray with the medium from the hydroponics store and buy my fertilizer there as well.

    Never heard of such a thing. That is very expensive. Wow. Kinda neat though. Being married to an Amish farm girl, Donna would love it. I will have to ask her about it. Oakie

    dont get me wrong, they are pretty cool, but all parts are proprietary , the air pump was built in mine, one of mine went out during seedling stage, i threw in a cheap air pump and stone

    there are much cheaper and better options, they may not look as pretty sitting on the counter, and much user and serviceable options, Emily's garden is one of them, hydrofarm sells a large variety , they just dont produce enough for my needs, and not worth 400.00 bucks
