nice try, this is exactly how misinformation gets spread

that idiot thought his steel toed shoes could stop a bullet and to prove it he shot them with his foot still in them with an undisclosed .45

That looks like it hurt and is still hurting.

I have seen 3 people shoot themselves by accident, all in the lg practicing quick draw.

2 were with 1911a1 and one was with a M9. The shot themselves in the thigh or calf. They all walked away looking very surprised and stupid.

It had to have been a Glock, firing the .45GAP round.

If it had been a 45ACP, it would have torn his entire leg off and he would have died immediately from shock. It probably would have also killed his neighbors and their dog if it had been fired from a 1911.

Such is the power of the .45ACP. (You need to spend more time on the forums- you'll learn cool facts like this).

So unless you have another .45 cartridge, had to be a Glock. [:D]

This one has been going around the internet for years. I've seen it attributed to any thing from resting a 410 shogun on his foot during a trap shoot, to a bad attempt at a quick draw with (insert caliber/ firearm here).

    That should buff right out.
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

    That is a fact!

One was a guy who was a renta cop at the Ft Bragg Civilian Range. It was on a week day and the guy was doing holster drills at the other end of the range area. I was shoot my rifle off the bench and I saw it out of the corner of my eye. He had a 1911a1 and he hit himself in the fat part of the calf. He walked to the range shed. I had to do all kind of statements plus they closed the range, I was pissed[;)]

The M9 was an MP in Iraq. Typical * MP stuff.

The other 1911a1 was a guy at an IPSC match. He shot himself in the front of the thigh. I think his gun got hung up on the holster and he had the saftey off and his gun fired. I believe it was determined his gun was un-safe and would fire when the thumb-saftey was lowered.

that happens when someone puts in a drop in thumb safety without proper fitting, or a bad hammer sear job, many fail to understand the relationship of the internal components

allot of guys where pinning there grip safeties for competition and had similar results upon drawing which led to a ban in any disabling of a safety feature
