My opinion is if you want the name,go with Colt. However,if you want one that can do the same job at a better price,go with Bushmaster.I have had a Bushmaster in the past and when I compared mine side by side with a similar Colt,I could not see 400 bucks worth of difference.Good luck finding a deal for the next year or so though.People are paying more than the black rifles are worth right now just to have one,or more, when the new version of an idiotic ban comes into effect.JMHO

Of the 3 names thrown out, the RRA gives you the best product.

I think Colt's will hold their value better, should you decide to sell it someday.
Unfortunately, the colt's are getting $400 more than they did a year ago! I was just offered $1600 for my sporter. (It's not for sale)

My personal preference is RRA, but all those mentioned are quality firearms. RRA has mostly 1:9 twist barrels

With the current situation your decision may be based on what you find available in your area or online. I called to order another RRA this week and was told his current delivery is 16 weeks. The dealer had one in stock that was very close to what I was going to order so I purchased that one instead of waiting.

I'd say go with Noveske.. probably the best AR on the market.

Other than that I'd say JP Enterprises or La Rue Tactical.

I would have to agree with Honestblues comment. I've had a colt and it was an excellent AR. But I now have a Bushmaster Patrolmans M4/A3, and to me there isn't a whole lot of difference between the 2 except the price. And my Bushmaster shoots every bit as good as the colt. But in the end it's all up to how much your willing to spend. Goodluck with your search

I like my rra entry a lot, but i like my colt ar's as well as my bushmaster ar-10. AS long as you stay away from cast, and move up from the base modelsyou should be good with any of th names you mentioned.

Exactly. If that's what people are willing to pay, then that's what they're worth. That being said, if I was in the market for an AR type I would not overlook any of the brands. I do think a Colt will hold a better resale value down the road.

Yep,I can see y'all's point.Perhaps I should have said "people are paying more than they should have to because of the demand".I am still hoping to buy a Bushmaster 450 soon and I suspect it will be hard to find one at or below MSRP.[:(]Yep,it is my fault for waiting until now,but I have recently medically retired and I am still waiting for my first pension check.[:(!]

I was looking for a Colt Match Target Rifle. Didn't really know if I wanted a black rifle or not but since Obama might/will bring back the AWB, I decided to get one. The Colt Match Target Rifle is legal here in NJ. I tried a few dealers and one told me 18 months, another told me 3 months and the third told me 4 weeks. The 4 week dealer quoted me a price of $1109.00. I have seen them priced considerably higher.

Why do you want a 1:7 twist; planning on shooting something heavy?

stabilize heavier rounds... like 75gr and above. This allows added accuracy and terminal ballistics at longer distances
