Walmart and ammo

edited April 2014 in General Discussion
picked up some 9mm today,
clerk told me that as of January 1st, all walmarts will no longer stock ammunition.

Any confirmation on this? If so, walmart has just pissed away my last excuse to even walk into their stores [:D]

at least 1 1/2 to 2 years limit 3 boxes or 1 brick of 22's but it does not matter if they have none to sell .
unless you want to line up each day start at 7:00am until last truck around 1:00 pm like a lot of people do to get your ( and your straw buyer ) ammo to resell
any gun show or auction site has plenty just have to be willing to ay 3x the retail

The put a 3 box limit in the local Wally's here in January 2013. They just lifted it about a month ago. Now you can buy as many as you want. They are fully stocked on all pistol and most rifle ammo too. No 22 still though

One of our Wallys in Moncks Corner started 1 box per customer but they actually have it on the shelf a couple days now
Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

They have limited me to 0 boxes as I have not been there at the same time as any .22 ammo for over a year and a half. Sign on the empty cabinet does say 3 box limit though.

Not new here been that way for some time.

Also signs posted 'NO .22 L.R.' 'NO .22 MAGNUM' 'NO .17 HMR'

Also not much of anything else either unless you want shotgun shells.

    [:(]

Same thing here, along with 7.62X39

They lifted the 3 box limit here a few months ago other than .22LR.

They do have pellets though. I bought myself a nice pellet rifle that shoots just as good as a 22 cal. rifle & its quiet & I can use it in my back yard. Let them choke on 22 shells for all I care anymore. No way will I pay $65.00 for a brick of 22's.[:(!]

All the local Wal-_Marts here have the three box or one larger box limit on .22s.
I was in one last week & there were several people waiting for a shipment. Turned out they only had four boxes that had one thousand rounds each. That's the first time I have ever seen boxes that large but at $50.00 each I wouldn't have bought any even if they had more.

$50 a 1000 is a very fair price currently. I doubt it will go far below that again.
