What would you charge

To come live in my house for a week to watch my dogs. Plus all the food is free. She placed an order for food.

Boarding would be cheaper but my big dog Bear is a rescue dog and i think it would stress him out to be put in a kennel.

She wanted 100 but my wife is paying 250.

$200 with room and board for a retiree would be adequate.

May the kindness you give Bear come back to you 100 fold.
We do the same for our pup. Friends or kids come and stay with her.
She's been a bit of a basket case since the lightning hit the house bad.

    Good on you Dave.

My dog is why I would not allow myself to be admitted this past Mon. for observation.

No way was I going to leave him locked in his crate for 72 hrs with no food or water.

My dog us a rescue also.

    Good for you Sir.

We left our dog and cat at a vet for a couple of weeks one time when we were on a trip and couldn't take them with us. The vet called about 3 days later while we were on the road and said Spike, our dog, wouldn't eat or drink and they were going to have to give him an IV. My wife thought about it for a minute and told the vet to put Lynx, our cat, in with him to see if that would help. He called back a little later and said all was well.

Spike just thought he had been abandoned by everyone but when he saw a familiar face he started eating and drinking and perked right up. We never did that again it was to stressful for the dog. The cat didn't care.

Our girl charges $25 per day. She comes and goes but sleeps over to care for our 2 dogs and cat.

We give her carte blanch to food and beverages while she is here.
    Best bet for the critters.

If I have to go out of town and cannot take Rebel, I put him in a doggie hotel, he gets all excited when he knows he's going there. One time I made the mistake of packing his food in his Tupperware the night before, and he would not let me sleep all night, He kept headbutting me in the back trying to get me out of bed and head to the doggie hotel so he could go play with some buddies. But after a couple of days, and I pick him up he is ready to go home

They only charge $25 per day, which is not bad. 2 to 3 times a year even if I'm not heading out of town where I can take him, I take him to the doggie hotel so that he can go have fun with His buddies

My youngest loves to dog sit for families on our block and makes some pretty nice change doing it. We usually take our dog with us, or if my older daughter is not going with us, she will stay at her place.

I have not had good experiences with kennels. My dogs just do not like it.
