Two of these will do you fine if hung in the center near the top, about 12 feet in from the end. I have one and it lights a 30X30 quite well. Two would be awesome.

I paid almost 300 when I bought mine two years ago.

Heck, search for 5000k led on Amazon. I bought 6 for $25 each. Easy to install and bright as daylight. Plug n play...

Wally World has twin 4' LED shop lights right now for $16.97 each. I have 18 of the LONG twin tube fluorescents that I am replacing. A ballast for a light is more than the LED fixture, and the LEDs will last about as long as I will.

Ok, for you Cheap Charlies out there, I just bought a bunch of these lights, here is some advice:

DO NOT SHOP FOR THESE LIGHTS ON PRICE ALONE!

Why, you may be asking your cheap self?

Because some of them put out LESS LIGHT!

Look at the "total lumens" figure. THAT is what you need to look at. Some of these cheaper lights put out as much as 30% less light than others!

You can figure "lumens per dollar" by dividing the lumens into the dollar amount. THEN you can compare apples to apples.

Also, if the lumens are 30% less, you'll need to buy 30% more lights, if want it nice and bright!

In my neck of the woods, I found that Sam's Club had the best price per lumen.

Also, they were a name brand, not some cheap chinese crap that'll burn your house down! (Yes, they were made in china, but at least they were a name brand that was supposedly safety tested!)

There are some mega-cheap ones on Amazon, but god only knows the quality. I don't trust chinese electronics as a general rule, and it has served me very well.

put some in my sons basement he had 4 of 4ft double lights down one side of his basement for washing machine ect. two of the leds double shop lights, around $25. put out as much if not more light than the 4 did. we got 3 but didn't really need the 3rd one, we put it in his garage above the workbence. as mentioned there are one and two row lights and the lumens are marked on the box pay attention when you buy them and you can figure the better value.

I have a small shop that had 6 4' T12 fixtures. I picked up 9 3' single tube LED at Home Depot. I installed them 8 of them and had one failure out of the box. The light output with 6 was far more than the original T12 fixtures. I added the other 2 just to cover some task areas. The biggest complaint now is when I turn on the lights it is dead quiet. The tell tale buzz is gone. I spent less than $100 to have more light and a quieter shop.

Yep, plus the cheap ones don't last very long... You're better off spending a little more money on higher quality ones than buying cheap ones. In the long run the higher priced higher quality once actually are cheaper because you won't have to replace them so often.

Just remember, you pay for what you get.
