Thinking of a nice camo job, what I need to know is how to prep the rifle for the paint, what parts not to paint and what kind of paint?
A good camo pattern would also help. Thanks!

I think the Silver Surfer lost his rifle...

It certainly needs to be toned down a few dozen shades. is it even possible to view this gun in natural sunlight?

I have used "stone paint" on a couple of rifles with good results. I simply degreased the gun thoroughly, sprayed it with gray auto primer and then applied the "stone paint" per directions. Get the paint at any home improvement store.

I masked off the lower half of the action and any area that had moving parts or critical fit. The trigger and the receiver interior, for example. I also taped over the scope lenses, but leaving scope covers on works as well. Here's my coyote rifle, for example.

    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

Nice job! But I think I still want to go with a camo look.

duracoat has some nice cammo colors as a "kit". i think you get 3 colors and there was 3 or 4 color combinations if i remember right.
    check their website.
I don't think you can paint the reciever on that gun as its coated with some kind of weatherproofer, can't remember what.
better check that the whole gun isn't coated!
alot of folks here have done cammo paint on guns. I'm sure one of the pros will tell you all you need to know.[:)]

Dura coat is the way to go. I did the frame on my 1911 with the stuff and it holds up beautifully to normal abuse. All I did to prep frame was disassemble it and blast it with glass bead then used the degreaser Dura Coat sells and air brush the color I wanted. Very easy and cheap with excellent results.
