Airplane Touch & Go's

I have always loved aircraft and especially military types. Here in Wilmington, N.C. we have a lot of planes doing touch and go's. Air Force One shows up seems like every couple of weeks and fly's around and around and passes low right over the shop. We have some F18's from Cherry Point I guess as well as my favorite the Herriers. Damn they sound good.
Yesterday I had a treat I don't usually get. A F15 Eagle shooting up from the airport at maybe a 60 degree angle and really getting it on.The plane looked to be painted flat black and was an awesome sight. Probably from Seymour Johnson AFB in Goldboro, we don'd see many down here on the coast. The "Sound of Freedom".

IIRC, the F15-E attack version is painted a darker color than the air superiority types. We see them once a year or so as they stop and say hello at the local AFB.

Aluminum Overcast is coming to town tomorrow. The field they use is about 1/2 a mile from my office. Will go down and see her to be sure.

Buy a ride, Don. It's a bucket list item you will never regret.

Edit to add: as a student and later a jet instructor, I have done just over a bazillion T&Gs.
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

In 1993 it was damaged by a storm and they wanted to tear it down.
There was a HUGE outcry from everyone and it was rebuilt. (Among the people that did not want it torn down were pilots who use it as a visual reference when approaching ATL and Dobbins) In 2006 it was almost hit by a tornado that did damage the KMart across the street and bunch of other stuff all the way down to Windy Hill. This winter they totally gutted the restaurant portion of the building and rebuilt it. It just opened back for business this week.
