Corned beef

Just took Corned beef and cabbage out of the Crock Pot .
Used Zattaran's extra spicy crab boil instead of the spice pack that comes with the meat .
Talk about good !!
Can't wait for tomorrow night !![:p]

Been using "crab Boil" for many years...sure is good...

That's right the Irish people couldn't afford meat and would celebrate St. Patrick's Day eating potatoes and cabbage. The Jewish bar owners lured them to drink in their establishments by serving corned beef. [:p]

..As long as it's a flat cut and not a point cut. I skip the spice pack, I used black peppercorns, mustard seed, bay leaf, and a bit of whole allspice and cloves. Wrap the spices in cheese cloth, tie and put in with the meat.
..Skim the foam off the top, add taters, carrots and cabbage later. Have rye bread handy for sopping. I like mustard on it all but some prefer horse radish.

..Oh yeah...don't ever boil it. Just a low simmer for hours.
