Some of you may remember the huge (240,000acres) fire we had here last summer. Well, there was a lot of timber that burned. These days its a big deal around here. Something like 150 trucks a day coming out of the wood loaded with logs, the mill is plugged, 150k bd ft of private timber, 400k of government. It all has to get out quick before it rots, so they have shortend paperwork and things are really buzzing. At about 5 o'clock you can tell who's working in the woods, they look like coal miners. Mill is running two shifts, railroad has added 3 extra runs to get out lumber to make room for more. Prettiest parade of logs trucks I've seen in a long time, gypos and SPI alike from all over. (I'm betting air cleaner sales are way up, eh.) you boys would love it

Great. We had a huge fire here several years ago and the enviormental types blocked the harvesting of the wood. It just rotted in place.
