About 80 series sets that contain 3 to 4 discs each.
Add in another 25 or so that are movies, and you have your answer.

I was watching season 8 of Cheers last night actually.[:)]

I have well over 100. Of course, Barney, Dora and the like really do not do it for me. Don

So far over 200 Files. Which is just the Box. Did not add the Sets. Setting up a DBase to keep track of what I have and keep from buying Dupes.

Sony Betamax lost to VHS. Then DVDs came along and threw them all out. Now it looks like DVDs are on their way out. Blu-Ray is the standard. But Ultraviolet is coming to knock ALL of them off the market. Soon we'll all get to buy our favorite movies all over again.

at last count(when i stopped buying physical media) i had over three hundred. ive lost many over the last few years. some to unreturned loans. some to natural attrition(im a slob and there are piles of dvds in front of my player. they get scratched etc).

physical media is dead. its all about on demand/instant streaming now. i cant imagine there will be another useful generation of physical media, and i think two more generations of p.media is impossible. instant streaming is so cheap and accessible these days that it doesnt make sense to be worrying over dics etc.

You say that now, but when shtf and the need to be hunkered down in a bunker, you wish you had those cds because streaming media will not be availible [;)]

Three. Saving Private Ryan, Enemy at the Gates, and We Were Soldiers.

We Were Soldiers Once And Young.

Read the book well before the movie came out. What an account.

This was the only war movie l could get my Uncle Don to watch. He was replacement for the 7th Cav. after the battle.

Isn't a DVD something like a smaller VHS?

Very few, after watching a movie a couple of times I don't care to watch it anymore. There are exceptions such as Quigley Down Under. Or any of the Clint Eastwood, Robert Duval or Sam Elliot westerns. And of course having 8 grandkids I have all the classic children's movies and I pretty much know each one by heart.[:D]

Now my son collects DVDs. He has over 2000. I could buy several nice guns with the money he has in DVDs. One wall in his living room is covered with a 64" wide screen and a wall to wall book case full of DVDs. He buys more DVDs and I have to build more shelves.

We only buy stuff that we really like, so this is kind of a SWAG:

About 100 movies (dramas, comedies, action, sci-fi, etc.)
About 100 music concerts (Eagles, Clapton, Petty, Bonamassa, etc.)
About 75 Westerns (Wayne, Stewart, Peck, Selleck, Eastwood, etc.)
    Almost complete Southpark Collection
    Complete X-Files Collection

    About 30% are Blu-ray

If you can't feel the music; it's only pink noise!
