So far so good here....I was up early and ran to the Men's Study breakfast at church. Great way to start the day and some good eats to
go with it....Back home for some yard work and puttering in the shop.

Now sitting in the basement, working on some small gun projects, messing with a few GB auctions, and sorting/editing a bunch of game camera PICS with some great tunes from the 70's blasting on the Stereo.

Maybe some fishing this evening....So what are you up to today ???

I'm configuring a new computer and getting used to the differences between Office 2016 Pro and my old Office 2010 Pro. I just finished using Publisher 2016 and made my wife a Mother's day card.

Once everything settles in on this new PC, I'll put a new Wireless card in it so that I'll have a Gigabit connection with my router.

Well not as relaxing as yours.[:)]

Went to do a call in a neighboring town and when finished left to come home and get ready to go fishing up north at a friends cabin on the lake and no brakes. Didn't want to call a tow truck so I had a tense drive driving home with only the emergency brake and 'jake breaking". Going to go fishing tomorrow anyway but now it looks like I will have to replace the master cylinder when I get home. Yee haw!

I gave my 2 year old Golden Retriever Corky a bath this morning. (he was getting a bit stinky)

Then, both him and I did some potting of some herb seedlings that the wife started in her Aero Garden back in the colder months.
Had some nice parsley, chives, sweet basil, and some mature lettuce.

Fed and watered the chickens, gathered 4 very large brown eggs from the Rhode Island Reds and 2 small white eggs from the Bantam's.

Made some pretty awesome French toast for breakfast with homemade bread!

Spent several hours in my workshop with Corky snoozing on his doggy bed nearby!

I finished inletting an iron toe plate on a stock blank of well figured walnut wood. Been working on a flintlock longrifle using a 42" Green Mountain 45 caliber barrel, an L&R Manton lock, with most everything else hand made by me. All iron mounts on this one.

Back in the house at around 2:30 and enjoying a cold PBR with my Mrs. and my best buddy Corky!

    Life is good!

Went for coffee. Then went and picked up my boat at my friends barn and pulled the carpets to wash at the laundromat, and dropped boat for summer service and detail.
A little yard and garage puttering, now resting watching the ballgame.
Out for a Martini and roast duck dinner later!
Bohemian style roast duck with crispy skin, sauer kraut, and dumplings!

Been renovating an old house (built 1915) in my spare time. Last weekend I stripped the west wall down to the studs, installed insulation (it had none!)re sheathed it and wrapped it in Tyvek. Today I'm installing the Hardie siding.
This will make three sides done with just the North side left. Then comes the painting.
It is a nice solid house and will make a fine rental when I am done.[:)]

Huge, Less than Three Years-Old Freezer Quit! Moving meats, high value half-defrosted things to old freezer the Big one was bought to replace. ( Old one only needed Circ fan uncovered and defrosted).

New one either needs a new thermostat, run relay, or compressor. Too old and too blind to get in there and jumper stuff to figure it out.

Now looking for paperwork to call for service/warranty.

Did get to watch Practices and Qualifying for Spanish Gran Prix.

Just taking it easy today. Spent the last week pressure washing, scrubbing and cleaning the exterior of the house, gutters, driveway, sidewalks and deck. Got it all done before the flaming inferno summer sets in around here.

went to the last regular season track meet before state level competition starts. our 2nd year girl discus thrower, returning state champion Class A as a freshman, uncorked a monster throw nearly 20 feet farther than last years state winning toss. this one today should rank her in the top 20 in the nation. our lone senior on the squad threw 10 foot farther than the state winning toss of last year.. to say it was a great day as a coach would be an understatement of monumental proportions.[:D][:D][:D][:D]

Just got back from a walk around the woods with Dad, and I believe we might have found the remnants of an old logging or mining camp dump. Bunch of old rusty steel cans, cable, bottles, and a few of what looks like segments of old worn out Caterpillar-type tracks. Been in that area probably hundreds of times over the years, and just happened across the stuff. It's in fairly thick brush, and can't be more than 150 yards off the main road.

Leftovers from a long-gone era, and it absolutely fascinates me. We gotta snoop around there more in the near future.[:)]

Went to a birthday party for my soon to be step Granddaughter. Sweetest little girl you ever met, 11 years old today.
Coming back on I-85 Guilford Co., suddenly saw cars behind me weaving in and out of traffic, passing left and right. One in front had flashing red lights in the grill. When he blew by me and cut across the lanes I saw it was a pimp mobile, about a dozen more behind him swerving across all three lanes back and forth. Most of them had signs in the back window, "hands up, don't shoot". Bunch of scumbags doing about 90. Pimped out cars. I felt like ramming them, but wife and FIL with me I just kept out of the way. They passed on into Alamance Co., no one bothered them although I saw several troopers as I passed through.
On the brighter side, SIL won the Bass Tournament up on Lake Gaston today, and $4000. He's one heckuva fisherman.
Happy tomorrow all you Mothers. [:D]

I did my yearly start on my rototiller.
I run it about 20 minutes a year and this year it was a bear to start.
5 Minutes after it started the motor seized up.
It has oil but something gave up after 20 years.
So tomorrow I'm off to Harbor Freight to buy a 6.5HP engine.
With their 25% off Mother's Day coupon it will cost $89.25.
I really want a tractor but they are expensive and it's hard to justify one with the small place I have. But I still might.
I also finished the wiring on my trash hauling trailer.
All I needed to do was secure the wires to the bottom.
Last wire hanger and I got vertigo.
I knew that would happen, that's why I had put it off.

Still recovering from The Plague. I have been pretty much down all week, was feeling better yesterday and had to go give the induction speech for a friend of mine into the Portland Roadster Show Hall of Fame. That few hours wiped me out. I slept for 10 hours last night and spent the day watching golf and John Wayne movies.

Other than that... everything is peachy. [:0]

Saturday was our 22nd wedding anniversary. I cleared out the ornamental garden while the Mrs planted her vegetables. Then I trimmed and mowed. We transplanted a Hosta and some small shrubs, then she grilled up some incredible steaks. It was a most excellent day.

Mother's Day, we relaxed a little.
