Lost a GREAT singer today, RIP Etta James!!!

I am sitting here typing this while listening to a Etta James CD. She passed away today from complications of leukemia. Her life with drugs, men, and battles with family took a toll on her but it was the complications of leukemia that was the final nail. Her voice can only be described as one that only comes along once in a life time of man kind.

Rest In Peace Etta James, peace that in life you only knew in short but sweet fleeting moments!

Man, she had a voice. Sad to hear this, but I knew it was coming. Her version of "Someone to Watch Over Me" was one of the best.

I've never experienced her live, but I can rest assured that she had the capability to mesmerize an audience.
