Reportedly airing the very 1st program from the 1970's. All greats of the original "Not ready for Prime Time" cast. Plus George Carlin as guest host.

What I thought was ironic was Carlin mentioned, "do you ever watch old shows and wonder how many are dead?" There were quite a few on that show that were dead to include John Belushi, Gilda Abner, Andy Kaufman.

Yes, after the premiere of SNL Belushi didn't last long, about 6 years.
Shooting cocaine and heroin, mixed together.

Carlin admitted years later that he did that entire show high on cocaine. Still, he was funny as heck!

It was entertaining to watch last night.

I don't think even the SNL cast could make a skit involving puppets last today.

    Radner.

IIRC, she was the only one that didn't die from an "excessive" lifestyle. Cancer got her.

Andy Kaufmann also died of cancer and was never a drinker/druggie...

He was only on SNL through the '79 season, then died years after leaving it and going Hollywood.

I was surprised that I didn't laugh as much as I thought I would.

I did enjoy the "Show us your guns" segment.
Not as they intended, obviously, but in my own little way.

I thought the same thing when he said that.

It's amazing how a simple joke could have such an impact just a few years later.
