MS and Windows

Upgraded my laptop.
New SSD and Windows 8.1 64 bit.
Everything was working fine with the MS generic drivers. Installed the
correct driver and boom it is all screwed up[:(!]
MS has made it so hard for someone to upgrade their system. Just ticked me off to no end.
It is refreshing the PC right now so all the software I installed will have to be reinstalled[:(!]
Dell was no help because it is out of the warranty window. They want you to purchase a new laptop
instead of assisting someone with a perfectly working system.
Rant over.

ms is not the problem

They don't have 64 bit drivers for everything yet
Yea, they are a real two-bit outfit fer sure.
Why would anyone install Windows 8.1? Let alone on a fresh install on an SSD? I have a copy of Windows ME for sale if you'd like [;)]
I'd rather shoot myself than have either of those on a PC.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
