Oh the joys of frozen winter pipes that you don't see until the spring time. [:(!]

    my sister-in-law that that problem. what a mess[xx(]

    pull the carpit up and get the padding up, get fans to dry it with a small little heater.

    Put in shut off valves and drain lines?!

    I rent, and yes that is what should be there. I drained the line before the winter. Without any shut off valve a head of the outside valve, draining it really didn't do anything since water was still in the valve. Secondly, the valve is soldiered on to the pipe instead of connected with the threaded pipe connection. I also learned that the floor drain is not the low point of the basement.
