aboard a B-17!

The "Madras Maiden" is in Salt Lake City and I booked a seat for Sunday. Looking forward to it very much. http://www.libertyfoundation.org/index.htm
I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

    Sounds like fun!
Aluminum Overcast was here in Bend last week. They were giving rides too.I fired up my TALON and flew a couple of circuits around the airport. I am sure people on the groind were wondering, " what the hell was that?".

A few years ago, "Sentimental Journey" was here and I kicked myself for not going up that time.

Interesting anecdote: There was a very little old lady just looking at Journey and there was a kind of misty look in her eyes. I asked her if she was okay, and she said "The last time I saw one of those, it was flying over my house. In France. In 1944."

I think Aluminum Overcast was heading there after Bend.

I never got a chance at a ride in it, but I spent as much time as I could in "Nine-O-Nine" when it stopped in Missoula years ago, along with the B-24 "All American". The simple act of walking around in them was a humbling experience.

"All American" had a fantastic sign in the nose turret. "Jets are for kids."[:D]

I took a ride in Aluminum Overcast last year, Rocky. Well worth the price of admission.

You may want to consider being a little pushy while boarding and get to the front of the line to snag a cockpit seat for takeoff. I was a polite person, but did make it to the navigators station for take off. Gave the seat to one of the folks that were stick in the back for landing.

My guess is that you are going to love it.

If you can afford it, take the flight.
It was one of those bucket list things for me.
Try to get one as early in the morning as possible to avoid turbulence.

Edit: It can get a bit cramped when they give the okay to walk around; especially if you're a big guy.
