A colt I sold is transformed, Beautiful, for sale

I went to a gunshow the weekend before last. I had decided to take my .22 peacemaker and sell it since I had recently bought one NIB.
I hoped to get somewhere near what I paid for the new one because it was in near perfect condition (just no box)
So as I am unpacking, I opened the case I had made for the peacemaker.
I lined the case with foam and put a fleece cover over it. I did this some months ago.
When I opened the case t set the gun on top of the table I was shocked and horrified to see that my sweet little Colt had rusty pits from one end to the other. I have not been so angry at myself for a very long time. I just couldn't believe I could be so dumb and was totally surprised because that gun had lived in the box (without the liner) for years. There must have been some moisture in the foam.
Anyway, long story short a guy came by and offered me 250 for it. I sold it. I said yes please take it out of my sight.
I called him just now as he had given me his card. It turns out he is a retired guy who does engraving and I wanted to talk to him about doing a shotgun engraving project. He is a great guy but he doesn't do the type of engraving I wanted (deep relief wildlife scenes) but he told me the Colt was for sale online.
You guys, this thing is beutiful....check it out.
remember, this was essentially a new gun and the only damage was to the outer surfaces It still functions like new.

"From his personal collection" ?
just marketing, he isn't a dealer. and he feeds his family with this work.
He doesn't like to work on guns that are in good shape he feels it takes their collectability away. Plus he doesn't have that much extra money to start with excellent guns so he looks for guns that have issues he can remove wih his art.
He bought that from me on Saturday so yeah, about 4 very long days. He said he had alot of hours in it.
I'm not a fan of engraving, but that thing is awesome. Guys got talent, that's for sure.
Just what I thought.\Normally,I think engraving is too "BIZZY" i guess.Too FINE, too Pretentious i guess.
That's just good ol'deep simple style engraving...I guess,I dunno but, I LIKEY!!It's kinda "OLD SCHOOL" lookin!
I think maybe,it's because the gun ain't "PERF". and the engraving ain't PERF. It just looks good and REAL!!
"From his personal collection" ?
Once he bought it, technically it becomes part of his collection. But I do understand what you are saying. Using "collection" makes it sound like he has owned it for years. But what does time matter. You either own it or you don't.
He said a job like that costs about 1400...

I'm sure the ATF has an opinion.
Match that kind of engraving up with the woodworking that OldeMagics does and... WOW!
That would be the perfect matchup! Some nice scrimshawed ivory or perhaps some checkered grips w/ an inlay.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Mr. Perfect, engraving covers up imperfections. Your perfect so you could not possibly like engraving.[:D]
if you're going to address sarcasm to me, the inventor of the sarcasm font on this forum, at least do it with the proper font. It's green italics.[:D]
