THAT HURT!! My ears are ringing, just looking at it.

I once worked with a guy who was setting up a campsite for dudes in Griz country -- so several of us carried shooters. He lifted a box out of a wagon, it caught the hammer on the pistol at his hip (not too sure how, as it was a single-action), and he shot himself in the foot. Lucky he missed his knee. Lucky also that although it was a .44 mag it was a short distance and there was no expansion. Healed up fine, over time. He took his boot in to the repair man to see if it was repairable, and was offered quite a chunk of cash for it.

I agree, I want to hear the story on this one.

    Could be worse....
I know of a would-be bank robber who was carrying his pistol at his side when walking into the bank. It went off and the bullet entered the outside of his right foot just above the ankle bone. Every bone in the ankle and in the back part of the foot was in splinters. It really hindered his escape and certainly messed up his career.

A guy in my unit rested the muzzle of his Garand on his boot. The Garand was loaded with blanks, without a blank adaptor, and was used as a straight pull. He somehow managed to fire it, and the gas blew a hole all the way through his boot (and his foot).

Something just does not look right here. It's obvious the guy blew a hole in his foot, but look at where the hole in the boot is in relation to the toe. The hole in the boot is just off the center line of the boot. How would you manage to get your big toe practically in the center of the boot???????????????????

Was hunting with a classmate who was carrying a 94 Win. We were visiting and he had the muzzle resting on his foot, and was playing with the hammer. When it went off it took off the toe next to the big
big one just as neat and clean as a surgeon. He started blatting and thought I should carry him out of the woods. He walked , after I unloaded his gun and explained to him that he was a moron . Never went hunting with him again , I don't think he did either !

I too had a friend that was deer hunting with a 12 guage. He got back to the truck and was talking to another friend and had the muzzle resting on his steel toed boot. Somehow the gun went off, got his big toe and the steel in the boot pinched his other toes. I think he lost a total of 3.
