quote:If there was any doubt that other bans would be in peril, the National Rifle Association quickly put those questions to rest when it announced shortly after the ruling that it would file a flurry of lawsuits challenging restrictions in San Francisco, Chicago and several Chicago suburbs. The law in Washington, which spelled out rules for the storage of weapons and made it extremely difficult for most people in the district to legally possess a handgun, was among the strictest in the nation.

I know that the NRA isn't the most well-respected group on this board, but I applaud them for taking the initiative and doing what's right.

If anyone sees GOA or SAF (or any other group) doing this, please, let me know.

We sure can hope it is the one punch that sets up the knock out punch.

Can't help but feel that Daleyville is in the deck.
It's too late for me, save yourself.

I saw Wayne LaPierre on an interview on NBC news.
He said they will be suing Morton Grove, Illinois, as well as Chicago.

They will go down like a house of cards- embedded in concrete. Daley is already screaming this does not apply to Chicago. Ever notice how politicians resist common sense?

quote:That challenge was not long in coming. Hours after the high court's ruling was made public Thursday, the Second Amendment Foundation and the Illinois State Rifle Association sued the city and the mayor in an effort to overturn Chicago's quarter-century ban on handguns.

Who was FIRST, the NRA OR SAF?
SAF didn't have to do any chest puffing, they just did it.

If I can Draw a comparison without bringing hostility. I dont
Believe the gun ban laws will faster than any other laws against
basic freedoms have fallen in the past. The segrigation laws of
the 60's didnt go away overnite . Just as the homosexual laws are
still evolving. We didnt get all these gun laws overnite. Chicago will be a special hard nut to crack. I had a 1900 Sears catalog
years ago. I loved seeing the gun section. One item that stuck
out was a requirement that you have a statement from friends saying
you were an honest and upright citizen of the City of Chicago for
residents to purchase a hand gun from Sears IN1900

I posted this on another thread, but i will also put it here.

What a hypocrite! Wayne and the NRA tried to kill this case before it went to the court of appeals, but now that it has been upheld by the SCOTUS, he now supports it? Which one is it Wayne? Just goes to show you, Wayne is a politician at heart.

I am sure you do all those things. The problem with that is...you have no understanding of what those rights are. You have expounded many times on this forum about your support for gun controls.

You do not represent the Second Amendment..you represent the New American viewpoints.

Not Rights...Privileges. That is ALL you understand.

    Well, hobby guy;
Prove me wrong. Merely answer one question.

Does the federal government have the authority under the Constitution to pass gun laws ?

By 2028 there will be 80,000 gun laws and the NRA will still want your money to "fight" them.

    + spanielsells.

Within days, he said, the NRA will file lawsuits against handgun restrictions in at least six cities: San Francisco, Chicago and the Illinois communities of Wilmette, Evanston, Oak Park and Morton Grove.
    What's next?

Actually the ISRA was first. A branch of the NRA.
