    Yeah, some people are making it on the shipping. I saw a Budwiser neon sign on fleabay the other day with the same type of deal. Sign was around $20.00, and shipping was around $185.00. Dumb.

    I might not apply in this particular case but some people post an item at a low price and have a high shipping cost in order to lower the cut that they have to give e-Bay. The commission is based on sale price, not including shipping.

    It is called "fee avoidance" and is against the rules on almost all online auction sites. Like EOD Guy stated, it cuts the fees paid to the auction site.
