Could have the NFL network with the help of to Motown princesses have screw up the one song that I don't like to see modified any worse?

Just wondering how many have seen it in it's entirety? Also wonder what happened to the push to replace it? Haven't heard much about that lately.....[:)][:)]

    crims40

Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore dimly seen thro' the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner: O, long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wash'd out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

O, thus be it ever when freemen shall stand,
    Between their lov'd homes and the war's desolation;
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land
Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserv'd us as a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust"
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Listen to this - absolutely great!!!

This is from the Texas Tech-vs-University of Texas basketball game. (The group is called the "Cactus Cuties")

This is the way the national anthem should be sung!

Went to a motorcycle hillclimb Sunday. During the National Anthem, the singer paused at certain points, and fireworks were set off. This was very dramatic with the flash booms.

Anytime I hear the National Anthem live I tend to choke up a little. I always look at the crowd, and 99.999% of the crowd is respectful & quiet. I aoways think to myself that across this great nation, everyday, hundreds of thousands of Americans listen to this tribute.

No way any foreign nation or "force" is EVER going to land on these shores and push us around. NO WAY.

I am proud to be an American. I am not always proud of what we do, or how we act, but I am always proud to live under this flag.

Was I the only one that was wholly unimpressed by the National Anthem performance at the Super Bowl? I had been previously unaware that it required additional lyrics.

I was singing and playing my guitar at a joint tonight when a lady asked me to sing the anthem if I could. Well the national anthem is one of the hardest songs to sing because of the range required and the emotion that must be conveyed. Be that as it may it is one of the songs I sing everyday to keep the pipes in shape. I tell this as the honest to God truth, Pavoratti ain't got nothing on me. I can belt it out with the best of them. The place I was playing was on a lake and when I finished you could hear from around the shore the applause of all of the people from around the lakeshore. Made me proud to be an American. Very proud.

One of the best I've heard by a rock band.

Not much in the way of "lookit me!" but it jams to the bone, nevertheless.

I just heard the worst rendition of our natinal anthem ever. Kelly Clarkson and some guy I never heard of,prior to the start of the Indy 500 these 2 clowns made up their own tune for the Star Spangled Banner. It was so bad I had to write it down somewhere. Then the great Jim Nabors sang "Back Home Again in Indiana" and was great as always. I realize The Star Spangled Banner is a tough song to sing but I'm sure they can find somebody that can sing it.Maybe Jim Nabors???????????????

I'm no fan, but Lady Gaga gave the best performance I have ever seen. Better than Whitney Houston's even. I'm very impressed.

And my Blue Angels did the flyover! GO NAVY!!! [:D]

Lead Pilot of the Formation usually hears a Feed From The Event.

Planning of the Event includes a Pre-Flight Brief that focuses on "Time Over Target".

After all these years, that song still makes a little moisture when I hear it sung correctly, thanks.

Every time I am somewhere that a band plays the national anthem I sing. I sing loud and clear and with all the strength I can muster. I will do this every time I get a chance. I don't sing when there is a single performer as it is more respectful to them to just listen.

This is my country and I am proud of it and I will honor the Flag and the Anthem as long as I draw breath.
