Well its accurate as allways and the scopes crosshair's are right on however I noticed a rather unusual problem with it that is real annoying. The rifle is not jamming at all just the bolt tends to skip the next round in the magazine and closes on an empty chamber. what I dont get is how icould it be short stroking when it is fully extracting the spent cartridge. I'm thinking it might be the ammo. I know you guys are probably going to yell at me but the ammo was Tulammo the newer stell cased stuff its non corrosive and is not lacqer coated and there never was any kind of warranty on this rifle to worry about voiding. I only have 40 rounds of those left anyhow all the other ammo is brass cased american eagle brand ammo. it will probably give me no problems at all. Although if you guys can think of any other problems it might be by all means feel free to speak up.

What mags are you using? USGI 20 rd milspec with green follower?

Run the brass cased ammo and get back to us.

Any number of things could be happening. The steel cases could be expanding slightly and retarding the bolt, allowing for the ejection, but the pick up of the next round.

I run 20 rounds of steel cased through my 'Oh Crap' AR to verify function with it. (You can get spam cans of steel cased, but not of brass cased.) Had 100% reliability, but the rifle had probably a thousand rounds through it before I put the steel through it.

I guess I don't see the advantage of running that smokey and dirty crap through an AR unless you absolutely have to.

I had the same problem with my Armalite a couple of years ago. Turns out, it was the magazine. The mag came with the rifle, but it had a kink in the spring. Took the magazine back for new one and haven't had any more problems.

pull the floorplate, stretch the mag spring a LITTLE bit. put it back together and try again.

Well that was the first this rifle had ever been shot. Ihad put 2 mags through it. On the first magazine which was one of the overpriced 20$ bushmaster 30 rounders which only had 20 rounds loaded into it I experienced a failure to feed on almost every round. On the second magazine which is a C products 40 rounder it only did that for the first 3 then I emptied it by hand and reloaded it making sure all the rounds were as far to the rear of the magazine as possible it only did that one time after that. I never did like that bushmaster 30rnd magazine

You built the upper right? I bet your gas block hadn't sealed up all of the way. Everyone I built took a few rounds to work properly.

I won't yell, I am the only one here who seems to shoot and like tula. Never had a single issue with either the DPMS rifle or the tula ammo.

I did have issues with my yugo 7.62x39 ammo not loading, it appears the bullet is hitting the magazine. It MUST be the brass ammo that is at fault!

    I would try another magazine.

ar's are notorious for not liking steel cased ammo, brass flexes and is forgiving, steel does not, ar's are tight tolerance, precise machinery

not saying the magazine is not the culprit, i switched to pmags and will never buy anything else

Just went through the same issue with a new BM predator upper. I put a Spikes ST-2 buffer and a new spring in it and now its smooth as silk, even with steel cased ammo.

Any trouble I had with my ARs was due to steel cased ammo.

Yep I did build the upper and after the last 40 rounds of the steel cased ammo is used up I dont plan on using it anymore. I have 100 rounds of brass and since I can now reload I won't need to ever use steel case crud anymore. Now if I can just find a good deal on once fired brass in .223 or 5.56mm i'll be set.
