I put 12 rounds through her at the range today. They consisted of 7 rounds of Hornady 200 gr. FTX and 5 rounds of Winchester 200 gr. PowerPoint.

It shot great and handled great. I think I'm in love with an older woman! Haha, I will definitely stick with open sights as well.

That is one great rifle, and a great caliber. My buddy shot many deer and hog in central Georgia with that same rifle.

The Hornady FTX and the 336 in 35 Rem is a deadly combination on deer.

Years ago I had one and shot federal 200gr soft point, because that's what they had on the self when I bought it. Was a hammer on deer, handled well and I really liked it. The Hornady ammo should make the old girl really sing. After reading your posts I looked up the ballistics, and dang, that's like a whole different rifle.

Any issues with it jamming? I know that in some of the other calibers, like .450 Marlin & .45-70 they had some issues in older guns because of the case being slightly shorter. I haven't looked into weather that's the case with the .35 Remington.

My Marlin is a older one and it cycles the Hornadys just fine. Tried them out in the old Remington 141 Thursday and it shot them just fine also

Good to know. I didn't have any issues either, but I didn't shoot them real fast. The 5 Winchesters I shot as fast as I accurately could get the sights back on target. I was impressed!
