.300 Blackout or Whisper thread!

Let's see some pictures of those .300 Blackouts/Whispers!

I just have the bipod on for some target shooting I will be doing tomorrow. I really like this round.

Ruger American Rifle with 1:7" twist and my 2-7x33 Leupold scope with German "post" reticle.

What twist barrels are you guys running? What bullet weight are you shooting?

Both mine are 1X8...I've been shooting 120 gr Barnes(Remington from Walmart) and 125 gr Hornady.

The Remington 120 gr made by Barnes is only $16.44 a box at Wally World

Of the two pictured, the SBR with NV has a 10.5" barrel with 1-7 twist with a pistol length gas tube and I use Hornady 208 gr & 225 gr. The bolt action Remington 7 has a 16" barrel and I use the same loads as the SBR which are all subsonic because of the suppressor. I also have a 3rd 300 BO not pictured that is also an AR15 with 16" barrel with carbine length gas tube and use it for higher velocity loads using the Sierra 125gr bullet.

Yeah, the 300 is fun(I have a pair of them) but for just shooting, I see ZERO advantage over .223. Now, if you're using a muffler, that's a whole nuther ball game. At that point, the .300 becomes "giggle, chuckle, snort" fun to shoot.
I have both 1-10 and 1-7 twist 16" barrels(both carbine gassed) and find both function and shoot satisfactorily.
