Some range time!

I got my brothers AR assembled and figured I would run it to him. I brought a couple new 20 round mags and some ammo in case he wanted to go shoot it right away. He obviously did! [:D]

He loved it and it ran perfectly. I'm happy that he's happy.

I also ran 50 rounds through my new-to-me Ruger P85. It ran flawlessly. All in all, it was a good day.

Thanks for the reminder. I had never seen Hogues for the 85/89 Ruger's. I have a KP89DC and a set of those would be great.

I tried to order some once, only to find out they were back-ordered. I cancelled that order and haven't gotten around to ordering them again.

I will say I don't mind the factory grips, but would definitely like to try the Hogue's. I usually like Hogue grips! [:D]

Hogue part number is 85000 and they will fit P 85-89-90-91. You will be surprised how much better they make the gun.

Just bought a set over on the auction side. Less than $22.00 and free shipping. [^]

I really like the shiny silver colored bolt in that ar. You made a very good looking gun.
    Thank you for the pictures.

Thanks! He paid for most of it and picked out the parts. I upgraded the grip and bolt carrier group without telling him. It's his birthday March 4th, so I figured it was a good little present for him(the upgrades that is).

Also of note, he had zero issues with the charging handle, just as you guys suspected. There doesn't appear to be a need to upgrade to the ambidextrous one.

I did the same thing with a P90. I don't think I will make that mistake with this P85.
