Hole in the horn

Been meaning to post this pic for awhile now. This was northwest Mo, last fall. A buddy of mine shot this buck after finding it wounded. He saw it 300+ yds away, limping. One of his 3 shots w/ a semi-auto 30.06 was off. Big bodied 9 pt. if I remember correctly. After he killed it we found out that someone had shot it high left in the chest and took out a softball sized chunk of shoulder. Never did find out who originally shot him.

my 1st deer was i killed had a graze mark on one of the horns ill have to take a pic and post it after i started skining him i found a chunk of lead in hios shoulder.

My friend I hunt with shot a one horned buck a number of years ago and when we looked at the broken off antler there was a chunk of lead in it!! The existing antler had six points! I bet that old buck had quite a headache for a day or two!

Seems that hole is a tad off the desired aiming point. Somebody needs some practic or was shooting when he shouldn't have been.

my little brother shot a buck year before last that someone had shot in the front hoof. go figure
