I did not know Winchester was making Steel Case Ammo here in the US.

I got this add from Widners they have it for $139 for 750 rds. I will probably pass on it but that seems like a good price.

I am seeing more and more ammo deals on the internet. I guess supply has caught up with demand and now there is surplus that needs to be sold off.

Anyone shoot this stuff?

I need some input on steel case ammo.Is it any good? Will it harm a fire arm?I'm not real worried about the Hi point carbie but would hate to damage my model 92 or my p38.thanks

I use steel cased Wolf almost exclusively in my AK, and it's never been an issue. I have heard a few 1911 owners say the steel cases are tougher on their extractors though.
Also, any ammo in a steel case is probably going to be pretty dirty.

Works for me and like stated you just have to clean the weapon more, [:D][:p]

I've used lots of Wolf in my 1911 (Springfield GI model),
it is quite a bit dirtier but other than that I have not noticed any adverse effects. Gave up on Wolf about a year ago because prices came way up (close to the cheap winchester) and it was no longer worth the bother of the extra cleaning.

A close buddy of mine feeds his AK and Daewoo rifles with Wolf 7.62x39 and .223 respectively. Also does not seem to have problems besides the extra carbon.

Wolf is not match ammo by any means, but it is comparable in accuracy to the cheap American ammunition.

I used steel cased WWII .45acp ammo for years in my 1911 and 1917s, no problems.

I would only shoot it out of my ak. I had some for my m1 carbine and didnt extract well than I had to replace the extractor.

I've used steel in my AK, SKS, Sig, Glock, and 1911. Never had any problems at any times.

the 220 is SIG's 45. Great gun that I'll sing the praises of all day.
