My wife is looking for a gun. I have about 10 gun magazines and she is reading up on which one she wants. Before i got sick i bought a xd 45 and she was with me and she wanted a pistol. She picked up a taurus pt22 with pink pearl grips. So i bought both guns. She hates the 22 it has about a 12 pound trigger pull. She likes shooting the 45. She is reading up pretty good. It will be interesting to see what she picks.

She has a Pink/Purple Taurus PT22 that has the worst trigger pull ever.

She also has a Pink/Purple Taurus 380 which is a pretty good gun. To me the trigger is better than the Ruger 380 i carry most of the time. Her other gun is a Taurus 327 stainless with pink and a set of black grips and that is a really really good gun.

When we first started dating she saw a gun that i had it was 17 or 19 years ago and it was a Ruger MK? something in stainless and had wood grips.

Out of the blue she asked about the gun and i told her i traded it about 15 years ago for a Browning Buckmark and a S&W22A.

She said that she liked that gun. So i guess that will be her Christmas present.

Im interested in a Ruger MK3 or MK4. Which is better? I know the MK 3 is a pain to take apart where the MK4 is a piece of cake.

However that plastic bull piece looks like it will not last long and you might need to keep a lot of them around.

    Whats the best gun.

Im saving up for a Uberti 45 long colt for me.[:)]

I wrote this for the married and single women in August for Facebook.
Your little 22 Taurus is a good gun, but for this application, the Beretta is better.

    August 22 at 1:38 PM ?

Mollie Tibbetts was murdered by an illegal alien.

Chris Watts murdered his pregnant wife and two little girls.

60 some-odd people were shot in Chicago last week.

Folks, the world is a dangerous place for the unwary. I don't leave my property without a weapon and when I cut grass next to the highway I have a sidearm.
If you are considering a weapon purchase but know nothing about firearms, I am going to give you the benefit of my experience as a sole proprietor for 23 years of a pawn and gun shop.

I had hundreds of first time gun buyers come in, many were women seeking advice. My goal was to sell them something comparable to their skill yet effective. Many people were concerned with the cost so that was also a factor.

The two handguns I recommended were:
Taurus Model 85 revolver in .38 Special
Beretta Model 21 Pistol in .22 Long Rifle

The reasons are the revolver is a much simpler weapon to master than a semiautomatic pistol. There is nothing to remember except to pull the trigger if you want it to fire. Under stress, those few seconds are very important. The caliber will also get the attention of an attacker.

The Beretta has a few things going for it that make it a perfect gun for a purse. It's light. It has a tip up barrel which means women do not have to pull the slide back to load the chamber. The best reason is if you have small children, you remove the loaded magazine and the gun cannot fire, even with a loaded chamber. There are some nuances that are beyond the scope of this primer. Youtube has videos of both, plus you have a million reviews on the net to peruse.

I'd hate to read your Facebook page to hear you were murdered when it could have possibly been avoided. I don't own stock in either company, I just hate to see bad people win.

Wondering what kind of insurance you have for both people? I checked into it and it gets pricy.

i bought my wife an Iver Johnson tp 22 many years ago. she loved it and killed every unwanted creature that came into "her yard". she was a natural point and shoot person and that was good since that thing has very poor sights. She passed away 5 years ago but i still have her gun and carry it myself at times. i tried to lure her away with rugers and smith's but she stuck by the tp 22.
