Radio NEWS just reported that the shooter from Washington State is still on the loose, house is unoccupied

    If this scum is gut-shot, that is a sweetheart deal.
    Any halfway decent ER could save him.
    But, if he shows up at an ER it is a one-way ticket to the gas chamber.

    Also, abdominal wounds are very painful.
    Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

    Gutshot wounds vary quite a bit. If the bullet hits the big artery, your life span will be measured in minutes.
    If the spleen or liver are hit, you may live for 2 to 24 hours, before you bleed to death.
    If you are hit in the intestines only, the bleeding may not be fatal. But without medical care you will develop an infection and will die a painful death after two to four days.

    Cowboys and Civil War troops knew all about gutshot wounds, and many committed suicide, or got a buddy to kill them, if they were gutshot, since antibiotics hadn't been invented the gutshot was always fatal.

    Musta been some Popgun 9mm - a .45 woulda anchored his butt right away, even with a gutshot. Too bad. Here's hoping he has assumed room temperature somewhere.
