Shameless M1 plug Winchester

edited April 2013 in General Discussion
I have just listed a nice looking Winchester M1 that I purchased last month. I don't get Winchesters (WRA in M1 Speak) very often because most owners tend to hang on to them and this particular rifle has a genuine Winchester WWII barrel in addition to some rather nice WRA parts. The barrel, while nothing like new, still has life left in it and someone so inclined could do a full restoration on the rifle.

This is another of the large lot of M1s that I bought last year, just two of which were Winchesters:
    http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=273885797

It is a very nice rifle but I already have far more Winchester M1s than I need and I figured that I should make some room and move it along to someone who will appreciate it. Winchester M1s are not easy to come by and I don't find very many up for sale. It comes with all of the CMP paperwork and would make a nice addition to someones M1 collection. Thanks for looking.

This is one of the very few Winchesters that I have been able to offer up for auction so if you have been looking for one (all of them are WWII production) this would be worth a look.

Well if we timed it correctly, we could both head to his place and drag him out of his bed in the wee hours, dress him like a pecan version of Mr. Peanut, and take pictures to be posted everywhere.

You would have to leave slightly earlier of course.
Also bring a big sign that says "I'm a Nut" for him to hold.[;)]

There were a total of four: Springfield Armory, Winchester, Harrington and Richardson and International harvester. Winchester did not produce any M1 after WWII while H&R and IHC did not produce any M1s during WWII. Springfield manufactured rifles during all production periods: Pre WWII, WWII and post war.

Looking at completed auctions, Don, tells me that sneaking up on this at $ 5.00 a day is going to leave you a little short.
