Some Bozo shot himself at a show...

In Hot Springs, about an hour outside of Little Rock. Vendor is a lawyer and swears the gun wasn't loaded and he doesn't know how a round got into the chamber of the .45 pistol. But some dork picked it up and pointed it at his hand and shot himself.
What happened to clearing the gun? What happened to not pointing the muzzle at yourself? What happened to not pulling the trigger before making sure the above is observed?

The question answers itself, doesn't it?
Most shows I've seen require that guns actions be zip-tied open for this exact reason.
Considering the "caliber" of bozos that frequent some gun shows, maybe this isn't such a bad idea.

My reasoning was that statistics overwhelming prove that 99% of accidental shootings are done with unloaded guns. Morale is: Keep them loaded just for safety's sake!![^]
All Guns Are Loaded Always !!!.... No Exception !!!!

If that were the case, you would never dry-fire a gun.
I have dry fired all of my center-fire arms, and can guarantee you without a doubt that were not loaded at that time.
All guns are loaded unless you know they are not. This bozo at the show apparently did not know that this gun was not loaded, yet pulled the trigger anyway.

Would you dry fire that unloaded Gun at your own Hand?
Bet you would check it again before you did! [;)]

I'd check it before I dry fire pointing at anything, and, frankly could probably not bring myself to dry fire pointing at my hand if I'd checked it 100 times.[:)]

As far as how the shell got in there....maybe it's tin foil hat time, but I think it could be the work of "undercover" gun haters walking thru the shows doing it. To get "bad" press about gun show dangers.[}:)]
I was taught to never take a closed gun from another person. I always ask for the salesman/owner to open the action before I put my hand on it.

Since we know for a fact that the AG and the BATFE like to arm mexican drug cartels just to set the stage for newer draconian gun laws, I don't think it unreasonable that one of their sycophants would stoop to quietly loading a firearm off a gunshow table.

Until YOU confirm they are unloaded.
That was the implication that I hoped everyone here, already knew !!!
My mistake. Carry On !

Caught a guy at a show in Birmingham a few years ago trying to put a round in a pistol and walk off . He was held until the law could get there . Arrested and taken away .
One in California arrested for the same thing a few years back .
