REM 32 acp double $$ REM 9mm. WHY???

Went to Wally World today. They had 32acp 71gr mc@$18.97 for 50. 9mm 115gr mc@$9.97 for 50. I checked MIDWAY component prices for 32acp brass & bullets. Then 9mm brass & bullets. Brass-bullets-were almost the same price. 32 bullets were $3 higher per HD. Bullets -brass- ammo were all Remington. Why is almost double in price for the loaded ammo[?]

Tooling costs the same, but you can sell MUCH more 9mm ... so your profit margin can be lower, but you make it up on volume

iwanna-your answer explains why the components are pretty close the same price. Why then does loaded ammo cost DOUBLE for 32acp[?]

Less demand for it compared to 9mm. I imagine they only tool up every once in a while for 32acp vs near constant for 9mm. They may have to run the lines at a slower pace due to the smaller size also but not sure.
