How about songs that were shorter than they should have been?

Maybe at least half of the stuff by Roy O....

And the high soprano part by Anita Darian in 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight'.

    OH Andrea...lighten up!!

"I'm Your Captain" the the best GFR tune IMHO
"Slow Ride" by Foghat goes on, but it ROCKS
the AM radio version of "American Pie" sucked, I LOVE the full length one
    "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights"...CLASSIC!

Gotta admit, not a fan of "Hey Jude" or "Stairway to Heaven", both overplayed and overrated IMHO

A lot of old Yes had long songs...."Close to the Edge" was ONE WHOLE ALBUM SIDE (yeah, I know, I'm showing my age..what's an album???), and "Starship Trooper" and "And You and I" were long ones, but great songs.

Depends on the song and the band, I guess.

This is the song that never ends.
It goes on and on my friends.
Someone started singing it not knowing what it was,
and they'll continue singing it forever just because,

    (then repeat back at top)

One song, both side of the album....[:0]

    Freebird, Lynerd Skinerd

Mountain Jam, Almond Bros. off the Eat a Peach album

Green grass and high tides, The Outlaws

    Highway Song, Blackfoot

All great songs, but the jams at the end could be a bit shorter....[8D]

Dude, I am in my mid-40s. Hardly a Lawrence Welk fan.

I just get sick of the commercial FM BS idiot DJ's playing the same old crap, and then if they have an "ow wow" weekend, it's only good if someone calls and requests a good but un or underplayed song.

    Agree 100%.

Our local station will overplay some stuff. 'Against the Wind' plays about every hour, but they will hardly ever
play Sabbath or Metallica. Really pisses me off. I want to hear 'Paranoid', but get treated to 'Wheel in the Sky'
    (also played every hour).[:(!][:(!][:(!]

I was going to respond to PBJloaf and commend him for listening to SIRIUS. I love my SIRIUS. Hair Nation, Classic Rewind, 80's on 8, Boneyard & Spa.

But, I find it absolutely mind boggling that NUNN listens to G & R. Cool.

    No.

I'm the Program Director and Morning Show host of the
Colorado Broadcasters Association's Small-Market Station of the Year.

A DJ plays parties and proms

We work very hard at providing not only a music mix that is both fresh and familiar.
But our purpose is far more than just the music. We serve the community by promoting local events and organizations.
We also spend many hours a week manning the board so that our listeners
can have up-to-the-minute information on severe weather.

The mission of a local station is a lot more than just providing music.

If all you want is music, I guess Sirius,
    I-pods or good, old-fashioned CD's are a viable alternative.
But if you want news and information, if you want to find a
good bunch of folks contributing to their community in dozens of ways,
check out a local (small-town) radio station.

    Hey.

    You asked.
