...way longer than they need to...[xx(] Not necessarilly a horrible song, but one that should have just ended way before it actually does. I mean, you've made your point, now you are just being annoying...
"I'm Your Captain (Closer to Home)" - Grand Funk Railroad

Agree 100%
It's a small world
American Pie
Paradise by the dashboard lights
Maybe at least half of the stuff by Roy O....
And the high soprano part by Anita Darian in 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight'.

OH Andrea...lighten up!!
"I'm Your Captain" the the best GFR tune IMHO
"Slow Ride" by Foghat goes on, but it ROCKS
the AM radio version of "American Pie" sucked, I LOVE the full length one
"Paradise by the Dashboard Lights"...CLASSIC!
Gotta admit, not a fan of "Hey Jude" or "Stairway to Heaven", both overplayed and overrated IMHO
A lot of old Yes had long songs...."Close to the Edge" was ONE WHOLE ALBUM SIDE (yeah, I know, I'm showing my age..what's an album???), and "Starship Trooper" and "And You and I" were long ones, but great songs.
Depends on the song and the band, I guess.

I was referencing songs considered "Top 40" and now overplayed, in the extended version, not stuff like "Supper's Ready"...
It goes on and on my friends.
Someone started singing it not knowing what it was,
and they'll continue singing it forever just because,
(then repeat back at top)
From "Lambchop's Playhouse" with Sherry Lewis
by Jethro Tull
One song, both side of the album....[:0]
Freebird, Lynerd Skinerd
Mountain Jam, Almond Bros. off the Eat a Peach album
Green grass and high tides, The Outlaws
Highway Song, Blackfoot
All great songs, but the jams at the end could be a bit shorter....[8D]

"Classic Rock" radio stations overplay just about every damn song.
There was atime I used to LIKE "Stairway to Heaven", now I change stationss when it comes on.
Come to think of it, commerical FM radio sucks. We listen to Sirius sattelite at hoem and in Mrs Loaf's TrailBlazer
and I still like them now. Maybe your just getting too
old for the classic rock.
Sorry for you, I liked the long songs when I was young
and I still like them now. Maybe your just getting too

Yes, I'm too old. Hand me a rocking chair and a set of bifocals.
Whippersnapper....NOW!!!

Dude, I am in my mid-40s. Hardly a Lawrence Welk fan.
I just get sick of the commercial FM BS idiot DJ's playing the same old crap, and then if they have an "ow wow" weekend, it's only good if someone calls and requests a good but un or underplayed song.
Shania's are all too short.
Try to guess who I like and don't like? [}:)]

I hope you don't take it personally when I say, on behalf of FM radio,
"Screw you and your Sirius".

That (lightheartedly) said. If I ever hear a caller request "Stairway to Heaven", I hope I can reach
the trigger with my toe, cuz I'll have the muzzle in my mouth. Metaphorically speaking.
I noted a number of songs by Guns & Roses that start off rocking, and then change in the middle to something else, then wander off into oblivion.
I never thought about it before, but that could just as well describe Axl Rose's career
I HATE THAT DAMN SONG!!!!!!!!!

Our local station will overplay some stuff. 'Against the Wind' plays about every hour, but they will hardly ever
play Sabbath or Metallica. Really pisses me off. I want to hear 'Paranoid', but get treated to 'Wheel in the Sky'
(also played every hour).[:(!][:(!][:(!]
But, I find it absolutely mind boggling that NUNN listens to G & R. Cool.
The Canadian National Anthem. The song sucks, and seems to last forever.
Holy crap...talk about the pot calling the kettle black... try suffering through this Gag Me With A Spoon [:D][:D]

Cortez the KillerYikes, I thought it was too short!
If you can't feel the music; it's only pink noise!

Thank you.
And ANY song that David Lee Roth starts shrieking and screeching on.
Well, I guess that's all his songs, innit?

To be honest...before doing the You Tube search, like 99.99999999 % of 6.6 billion people, I'd never heard the N.Z. N.A. [;)]

You're a DJ, Plink? Didn't know that....
No offense taken, but I'll take Sirius over commercial/terrestial radio anyday
1st Wave on Sirius, like reliving college days..

No.
I'm the Program Director and Morning Show host of the
Colorado Broadcasters Association's Small-Market Station of the Year.
A DJ plays parties and proms
We work very hard at providing not only a music mix that is both fresh and familiar.
But our purpose is far more than just the music. We serve the community by promoting local events and organizations.
We also spend many hours a week manning the board so that our listeners
can have up-to-the-minute information on severe weather.
The mission of a local station is a lot more than just providing music.
If all you want is music, I guess Sirius,
I-pods or good, old-fashioned CD's are a viable alternative.
But if you want news and information, if you want to find a
good bunch of folks contributing to their community in dozens of ways,
check out a local (small-town) radio station.
Hey.
You asked.
