Red dot on a Nagant?

I've been planning on putting a scope on the Nagant. BTW, the Stock is done, looks great, finishing up the handguard tomorrow I'll get pics up when I get home tomorrow morning. I plan on using the "No gunsmith" mount that puts the scope mount where the rear sight leaf was. What do you guys think about putting a decent Simmons red dot on there instead of the normal pistol (LER) scope?
