I've been really big into Riverside and Porcupine Tree lately. They aren't as hard and heavy, but the vocal and musical melodies are awesome. I have 6 Porcupine Tree Albums, they are all great.

That Riverside stuff is really awesome, both of their albums are great. Look up the song "Back to the River" Some nice percussion, guitar and background. also a little tribute to Pink Floyd.
