30-06, especially if you're of the "doomsday" persuasion
not necacarily(sp) a doomsday person. i dont stock enough ammo[:D] but i am not a spray and pray kinda guy.
*note* ARs are not spray and pray guns... not dissing anyone
i enjoy a good punch and heay bullet down range[}:)]
I guess it depends on what you're buying it for.
Any gun is a good gun, right? (Well other than Raven .25s)
Don't get me wrong, I love my AR (I loved it alot more when ammo was 9 cents a round)

as long as the one pulling the trigger knows how to use it...
except for the raven .25s[:D][;)]
more bullets: AR
range time: 30.06 which is favoring right now
The answer is "BOTH!!!"
more bullets or more range time
more bullets: AR
range time: 30.06 which is favoring right now
With ammo prices as they are right now, surplus 30-06 isn't much more expensive than surplus 5.56
