Couple of guys at work have been catching Channel-Cats and Big Blue-Catfish the last month or so.

One fellow told me he cut open one and found two nice sized Yellow Perch in it's stomach.
They threw out a double hooked line and caught a couple yellow perch...
Left 'em in at depth and started catching some really big Catfish then.

    Not I.

I don't like fish so don't catch 'em.

Of course, that leaves more for those that do. [8D]

Yep, pretty much the same here. I like smoked salmon though, and find that there are plenty of diehard fishermen that have that stuff running out their ears. They are happy to give some away, and I am happy to oblige.

Kokanee are just starting, trout season is doing good. I've been going once a week for the last month or so, two smokers full...

Huge crappie right now and stripers. Catfish are always biting and I hear the bass fishermen are having a field day.

This is on Lake Wylie on the NC/SC border.

My favorite catfish and striper area.

Stripers just started running. A lot of shorts, but the big ones should be here next week. They didn't come in close the last two years and surf fishing in these parts were a bust.Hope they come in this year.

I haven't put in since February, didn't do much that trip, it was a new area and one I don't plan on going back to. I usually go to the Henderson area of the Atchafalya Basin, the water has been rising lately and that just flat out shuts the fishing down, only guys who have fished there for many years and go there and catch a few "sacalait", or crappie as you might call them.

Ahhh. Shelbyville........we used to fish there often when I attended EIU in the late 70's. It was a great place to get away.

Went for mangrove snappers last week west side by Mormon key, legal size is 12" these are 12" to 15" oh and caught a 25" grouper in the mangroves they are usually out deeper by the time they reach this size. I breaded and deep fried all the snappers, It seems I get more family and friends visiting every time I come back from fishing.[:p]

Nice, I'm curious is there a bag limit on those? we have a bag limit for just about every good eating fish here.

The lake that I caught those in, is a 20 each on crappie and bluegill. Most PA lakes fall under 50 combined on panfish.

That mall looks like an old power station. Probably coal fired steam station? Seems like good fishing is always possible below a small dam like that.

Been doing well on bass. Shellcrackers are starting to bed but are harder to find in deeper water due to all the rain we have had.

Went last couple sundays inshore flats fishing and been limiting out on reds and sea trout as well.

It is an old piano factory that has been turned into an antique mall

The shad are running in Richmond, Virginia. This is a small hickory shad. The American Shad get bigger and will be making the spawn run right about now. Hoped to go Friday, but the river is flooded from all the rain. Maybe next week.

Now that is an excellent story. Give the little guy a high-five from me!

As for the fishing, my BIL and I went fishing from our kayaks today in a creek. (A first for me) I like it even though I didnt catch one. BIL boated a pretty nice large mouth bass. At least a couple pounds. Bass season not opened here....so back in the creek it went.

2 Day king tournament starts the 10th of this month I believe. Are you local/regular because I know a lot of the guys out there.

I live in Fort Mill SC. Way to many people out there for the tournaments. Half of them can't cast an anchor line straight if their life depended on it. We drive down on saturday morning, fish all day and night and come home on sunday night.

If you see a short fat guy using a Penn Squidder on a 12' long red casting rod for an anchor line thats me. I am probably the only one who uses a casting reel for my anchor line anymore. I have used that reel since 1968 and the rod I made it myself in 1969.

From shore. Bait is a 1/64 oz shad dart jig head with a Berkly Gulp 1" minnow.
