Man is great to be back in the US after a 9 month trip in Africa. I had a good time there and made some bucks but there is no place like home.
I missed a lot of crazy stuff going down here. I could not believe Trump got elected. I absentee voted at the US Embassy in Kinshasa DRC. I doubt my ballot was even counted.
I started out in South Sudan and was supposed to be there for 4 months, well that got cut short because they decided to have a the War of Northern Aggression . Went to Kenya and did some work then flew to the DRC. That was a long trip and I lost 27#. The weight loss program I used is called food poisoning[8D].
I got to shoot some very cool guns while there. Galils, Uzi's, HK G3's, FN FAL, AK's of all kinds. In the DRC I got to mess around with a Mendoza RM2 in 7x 57. This gun may have been left there by Che when he was fighting in Zaire. The gun was in an arms room in Kisangani which used to be call Stanleyville. I took some cool pictures I will post once I have them loaded to snapfish. Around Kisangani you can still find wrecked M3 greyhound scout cars thet Mike Hoar used when he was fighting there.
I went back and read a bunch of old posts and I see some new guys here and a lot of old guys missing.

If you can't feel the music; it's only pink noise!
Welcome home sir. May we ask what you did there??? Occupation?? Glad you made it home safe to us. Oakie
I am a contractor and I work with either the State Dept or the JFKSWC which is out of Ft Bragg.
I usually spend about 1/2 my year there every year and have since 2006. I have worked in Eastern Europe but I like Africa better.
Tell us some good stories!
Glad you are home, safe and sound.

How was that Desmond Tutu 2-step? A bit of uncooked monkey foot in your stew?
Oh that's right, DRC monkeys are served raw....
Nice to see you again, Sam.

I think one of the scariest things I have ever seen was when I walked into the US Embassy. When you enter the door they have the COC pictures just like in the Military but they have 2 US flags crossed and 2 pictures above them. So I walk in the Embassy in Kinshasa DRC and there staring at me is a Picture of Barry Sotero and Lurch. I almost lost my lunch right there.
