Didn't they pass this and recognize other states right to carry, Indiana specifically? It is not on the NRA site.

I guess they don't recognize Indiana permits. They aren't on this list, either: http://www.handgunlaw.us/states/ohio.pdf

Conversely, Indiana recognizes all state permits: http://www.handgunlaw.us/states/indiana.pdf

I just spoke with NRA/ILA and was told that Ohio does not honor Indiana permits and that the Friends of the NRA guy in Columbus, OH should not have giving out false info. Good thing I checked it out, could have been bad news, I go to Ohio often.

Several years ago we had a county deputy go to Ohio to pick up a prisoner for transport back to our county. The deputy was arrested on arrival for illegal possession of a firearm.

Ohio does NOT reconize a Indiana CCW.

The reason being, from what I have been told, is Indiana does NOT require a NRA approved handgun saftey course like Ohio does.

    Thanks again NRA! [xx(]

Right about all,EXCEPT, the "THANKS AGAIN NRA"

It is the state of Indiana's fault that they don't require a approved firearms course.

Ohio had a problem with West Virginia's CCW's until they finally put the holders picture on them.

    Our fault? BS!

We don't require it. So what? Hell MICHIGAN will reconize an Indiana ccw, and WE don't need to get OUR hanguns "fingerprinted" to comply.

It is NRA politics, plain and simple. I HAD an Ohio CCW. I lived in the state when the law passed.

You do realize that the NRA gets MORE money for the CCW than the state of Ohio does, right?

150 for the class, and a bare minimum of a 10 dollar NRA membership. AND you had to retake the NRA coarse every other time you renewed your CCW.

The ohio CCW only cost 75 bucks for 4 years.

Above statement in red above is not true. I have a ccw permit in WV and it doesn't have my picture on it. Just renewed in August. Pictures on the permits are available in only a few WV counties.
