It's going to be funny when/if neither Michigan or Ohio State win the Big 10 or if Penn State lost and Wisconsin beat Ohio State in the conference championship. Open the door wide for Washington either way.

Then if Clemson losses one it will really get funny. Maybe Alabama can manage to lose the SEC title game and the whole dang country can be in a twitter.

With a 4 team playoff how can they send someone who doesn't win their conference.

Actually Ohio State is not going to the Big Ten Championship...there in lies the problem for the playoff committee...if Penn State beats Wisconsin in the Big 10 Championship game..then how could they put Ohio State in the Playoff over Penn State, when OSU lost to PSU in aheads up comp and PSU won their conference...irregardless of OSU better win/loss. IMO OSU doesn't deserve to be there if they couldn't even win their own conference.

Right, I wrote that at 1/2 time of the PSU vs MS game. If PSU wins, well, they are a 2 loss team with a BIG 10 conference championship and a win over OSU. If Wisconsin wins they are a 2 loss team with a BIG 10 conference champoinship a win over then #7 Nebraska and their 2 losses both by a touchdown to OSU and Michigan. Hard to rule out either PSU or Wisconsin in favor of a team not even a conference champ.

The problem with only a 4 team play off isn't that the ones that go don't deserve it, just that there are usually other teams that also deserve it. But only 4 can go. Some deserving teams are going to be left out.

If Washington and Clemson win out they go, same with Alabama. Only one spot left. If Oklahoma wins out they have an argument. The BIG 10 champ has an argument. Be hard to slip OSU in front of either one of them.
