No other sport mentioned in the article is removing seats so the place don't look so empty. Any business that's doing that is not on the way up. It may not be going out of business but it sure as hell isn't expanding.

Although always described as a cowboy, Roswellnative generally acts as a righter of wrongs or bodyguard of some sort, where he excels thanks to his resourcefulness and incredible gun prowesses.

Well then, I will continue to post when and where races are just to keep all the haters updated. You did see where they have billions of revenue. [:D]

""You did see where they have billions of revenue. ""

I knew of a small store that had $10,000 of revenue each week.
It cost them $10,001 a week to operate.

Referring to NASCAR as a "sport" is laughable.
Don't "sports" typically involve something like athletes??
Next, we'll be told that golf is a "sport".

Would it be a good investment investing in anything Nascar right now?[:(]

Racing definitely takes athletic ability. It can't be equated to driving 90 MPH on an Interstate like some people imagine.
I still prefer Formula 1 these days. Much more interesting cars, faster speeds, not just oval tracks.
I rather watch Indy cars than NASCAR any more.

I dunno, I see the decline of NASCAR as maybe a good thing. I don't think it will go away anytime soon, but I do think the whole program would be better off if it got roped in a little. NASCAR as an entity has gotten a little too big for their britches anyway. Getting knocked down a few pegs might have an overall positive effect.

Reduced attendance will drive down revenue, which will in turn (eventually) reduce the ridiculous sponsorship requirements to race competitively. Ticket prices will fall, more racers will have access and it will be a win-win for fans and racers alike, IMHO.

Maybe it might even start getting back to the foundations which made it what it is today, tradin' paint and turnin' left, not billion dollar racing empires and rolling commercialized multi-media spectacles.

    Agree

While I like to watch a good race the "show" overtook the racing long ago. I would rather watch the kids go-cart races at the local fairgrounds.

Bet every one of them has the dream of making it to the big show too.[;)]

I know many old famous racers that came to kids tracks and showed them the line along with other words of wisdom.

    God bless the old guys.

As a kid I hung out at Indy. Those guys came in the pits wide open. They would let you get right in there and up close while they were working on the cars.

I hope they regain some of the fans they lost over the last few years, but some major changes need to be made and some of the stupid drama queen poop needs to stop. I will go see another race, but Nascar has got to find someone good to promote them better and so on. JMHO

Me too. We had one of the first NASCAR tracks in my home town, and the longest banked dirt track. They call it a mile but I think it was really .9 mile. I went to a lot of races there in the early 50s and 60s. Saw all the greats. It shut down in 1968 when they wouldn't let France pave it. So he went to Talladega. What could have been, it was in a perfect location as it turns out, a half mile to where I-85 came thru. Now a National Historical Site.

I think they need to drop the "stock" since that will never be again. Oh well, some people probably didn't like it when horses and buggies died out.
Last race I went to was Rockingham the year it closed.

    Who's bitching?

It's their show they can run it anyway they want. Myself, I just do not care for the show. Like I said I enjoy racing, just not the screen drama show of NASCAR, seems I'm not alone.

Anyway attendance didn't drop just because of the economy. But if the folks who run NASCAR don't listen any better than you, it probably will go under.
