I'll never buy another ticket,I will never watch another race.No longer worth the effort to even find it on TV.. NASCAR IS DEAD!!![xx(]
I knew of a small store that had $10,000 of revenue each week.
It cost them $10,001 a week to operate.

Don't "sports" typically involve something like athletes??
Next, we'll be told that golf is a "sport".
,,, a thorn in your side subject, Huh, if they go under you can give the the money or advise them like the museum to keep em going
I still prefer Formula 1 these days. Much more interesting cars, faster speeds, not just oval tracks.
I rather watch Indy cars than NASCAR any more.
When I was Racing
It Was Hot Hot Hot!!!
Race Suit, Helmet,Race Shoes , Gloves ,,, heat From Engine Heat of the Day/Night
Went to Hauler Soaking Wet
that Night In Bed Charlie horses In Calves And Arches Of Feet
You Could Not Walk Off
Was it Worth It I thought it Was At the Time..
Today Not so Much yes I Was A Champion.....
That Broken Back Still Haunts me 25 years later....[:(]
Wish I Never Seen A Racecar[:0]
But I Had A thing to Prove ,,,that I was As Good As My Dad

I dunno, I see the decline of NASCAR as maybe a good thing. I don't think it will go away anytime soon, but I do think the whole program would be better off if it got roped in a little. NASCAR as an entity has gotten a little too big for their britches anyway. Getting knocked down a few pegs might have an overall positive effect.
Reduced attendance will drive down revenue, which will in turn (eventually) reduce the ridiculous sponsorship requirements to race competitively. Ticket prices will fall, more racers will have access and it will be a win-win for fans and racers alike, IMHO.
Maybe it might even start getting back to the foundations which made it what it is today, tradin' paint and turnin' left, not billion dollar racing empires and rolling commercialized multi-media spectacles.
Agree
While I like to watch a good race the "show" overtook the racing long ago. I would rather watch the kids go-cart races at the local fairgrounds.

Bet every one of them has the dream of making it to the big show too.[;)]
I know many old famous racers that came to kids tracks and showed them the line along with other words of wisdom.
God bless the old guys.
As a kid I hung out at Indy. Those guys came in the pits wide open. They would let you get right in there and up close while they were working on the cars.
I think they need to drop the "stock" since that will never be again. Oh well, some people probably didn't like it when horses and buggies died out.
Last race I went to was Rockingham the year it closed.
JJ isn't worried about it..

6 Cup Championships. He is a real racer not some wannabee
HBO will be charging for it someday. Or maybe not. Some folks just love to * about it and don't even watch.
Who's bitching?
It's their show they can run it anyway they want. Myself, I just do not care for the show. Like I said I enjoy racing, just not the screen drama show of NASCAR, seems I'm not alone.
Anyway attendance didn't drop just because of the economy. But if the folks who run NASCAR don't listen any better than you, it probably will go under.
