Yesterday, was our last day of muzzleloader season. I spent all year, chasing one buck. He was killed about three weeks ago, by a car. I hunted hard these last few weeks, trying to fill the freezer. Seen a lot of small does and a few small bucks, so I didn't kill anything. Last night as I was driving home from my hunting spot, I get a phone call from a farmer friend of mine. I fixed his heater about three weeks ago. He lets me fish his bass ponds. He said to me, I left you a present in your garage. I get home, open the garage and there lays a nice big six pointer.[:0] AWESOME!!!!!! Now I have some butchering to do today. [:)] What a great friend, to think of me like that. Looks like venison cutlets for dinner next weekend. Now I can concentrate on coyote hunting, instead of winter bow.[^] Got the 22 hornet all dialed in and ready to rock some yotes!!!!!!Oak

I've got a neighbor that does just that, once a year he calls me to come get some venison, and I stop by and load the cooler on the truck. It's quartered, the tenderloin is separated, and iced down.
Back must have got better in a hurry?
Not my back as much as my heart. Had stent number 7 put in, back on November 6th[;)] Feel fantastic. [:)] Sucks being only 54 and having a bad heart, but at least I am alive and doing great!!!!!!
That's a pretty good friend, a great friend would have skinned , quartered and iced down the venison. [:)]

I like to butcher them myself, and it is only 13 here. Been almost single digits every night now, for a few weeks. 4" of snow too.[:p] Love winter.
I hope to get back in to it down the road. I did pretty well at it years ago, that and foxes.
