And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Seems like 22lr plenty available as far as I can discern.
Not here

Different ideas of what "plenty available" is. I haven't seen 22lr in my local area for years now. Yes, it has went past months and we are now into years. To me that available part also mean reasonably priced.
It may have been available if I checked each morning, hounded the merchants and burned up time and fuel. However I haven't done that. I have checked when I am in our local establishments, haven't seen any yet.
When I can walk in and buy a box of what I need when I need it, I will call that "plenty available". Having to cruise the internet watching for anything I can get at the prices asked isn't what I call plenty or available. Particularly I need CCI LRHP, just the standard stuff. I know it is available on the internet at prices that are beyond reasonable. Again, IMO, that isn't "plenty available", as available to me also means reasonably priced.

You just need to come to grips with what is now the new reasonable price. Prices aren't going back to 2005 levels. They aren't and won't. IMO, the price reset was long overdue.

The previous time ammo jumped big, bulk 22lr went from $10 a brick (of 500 rounds) to $30+ a brick. After the dust settled a brick came back down to $20.
I know prices went up on a lot of things during that period, but they didn't double. So if a price reset was due it already happened prior to this last go around. I know supply and demand drives pricing. But even at inflated prices the ammo isn't available in our local retail stores. Gun stores, hardware stores, big chain stores, no one has it local at any price, at least not when I have been there.
Maybe I will have to accept the new prices, but I am not doing it if I can avoid it. Other than 2 bricks I got in a gun trade, I haven't bought 22lr ammo in years.
