Slept till ten, woke up and romanced the wife, cooked breakfast/lunch, trimmed a dozen trees, hauled off the trimmings, mowed and raked the yard, cleaned the pool, played a game of checkers with my 11 year old and now I am cooling down at the keyboard. So there!

Does that qualify as not being "lazy"???[:o)]

Installing French doors between two rooms, helping
a son who is tearing down a head, getting stuff together
for another Mexican fishing trip next week ... and best of all,
I've managed to slip in two naps. My days all start at 5:30 -
old habits are hard to break! If I'm still above the sod at 79
I'm just hoping I'll be able to sit up and take nourishment![:D]

Been trying to sleep off and on all day, but this dang cough won't let me. Some sort of bug has been kicking my butt since Tuesday, so I went to the doc yesterday. He called it "the crud" and gave fme some mondo antibiotics. I did watch "Gunsmoke" with Audie Murphy and part of "The Caine Mutiny". And I loaded 40 rounds of 22-250. (See my throat erosion threads) Pretty pathetic for a mere 45-year-old, but frankly, sick as I am, I could care diddly.

Got up at the crack of noon. Read the paper for a hour. Began rearranging my sock drawer. Took a break and had something to eat. Took a nap for a hour. Got up and watched T.V. Had another meal and went back to watching T.V. Took another nap. Had dinner and went back to the sock drawer. Finished that and didn't have time for another nap so I went to bed.

....Up at six AM, trimmed a couple Russian olive trees, cut down 3 Siberian elms, and cleaned all the maple "helicopter" seeds out of the gutters. Then, I spent the afternoon at the gunshop, telling lies, hearing worse lies, and generally trying to get one over on the owners. Not really, they're good people. A female customer even went across the street and bought us all ice cream. One of the better vanilla malts I've had.
...Odd....I found out that her forever boyfriend is the grandson of the fella that did the eulogy at my dad's funeral. It's a small world. Or at least a small town. Now, I'm giving my back a break and a dose of Doctor Tap's cure-all. Life is good.

Got up at 5:30 AM, ate too much bacon and eggs for breakfast, checked three fields for crop germination percent and to see if they were dry enough to spray for weeds (nope). Checked e-mail and made a post or two with 2nd cup of coffee. Worked on mower deck and put youngest son to work with that. Cleaned shop bench and put away tools from working on new seed boots for the grain drill. Took three hours off and went to a graduation party for the daughter of a family friend. Went back out to shop and worked at replacing the blades on the grain drill until 11:00 PM. That's enough for today. Man, am I glad I'm retired and don't have to work everyday now.[:D]

AKS Rotten: Being over 80 years and slowing down I ate a nice bacon and egg breakfast my wife of 56 years cooked. Read the papers, went on the computer for a half hour to my WW 2 forums I read and responded to some. Then did a bit of maintainance on my ATV, took a hour or so ride in the woods, then did some reloading . Cut grass a couple of days ago so it
didnt need it. Sunday is a relaxing day for me to enjoy.

Got up at 3:30am. Left for work @ 4:15am. Got home @ 5pm. Went to Wal-mart and Meijer. Picked up a couple new fishing rods, some flowering shrubs (wife went with). Came home, threw some steaks on the grill (cajun style, YUM!). Just finished dinner. Grabbed a beer (Amstel Light) and sat down at the desk, threw on the Cd the wife bought the other day (Bryan Adams - Anthology, AWESOME Collection). Still wearing the same pants that I wore to work. Time to bababooey, Shower, Shave, and Shampoo, maybe not in that order. Then go to bed and get ready to do it all over again tomorrow.

Been sitting here at work waiting on my fellow jar heads to call from Iraq and tell me their computers are broken. Got here at 2pm, I'll be leaving in bout half an hour. Then, get to get up at 7, listen to Col's talk all day, and come in at 2pm tomorrow and do it all again. The sad part is, I'm only 22, and I feel like I'm 52. Guess the Corps does that to ya, huh?
