Lately, there have been several incidences of shootings, kidnappings and brawls at various Walmart stores. Heres the latest:

Police officer wounded in Arizona Wal-Mart melee recovering

COTTONWOOD, Ariz. (AP) - A police officer shot during a deadly late-night brawl outside a Wal-Mart store in north-central Arizona was released from the hospital this week.

Cottonwood police Sgt. Jeremy Daniels began recuperating at home Thursday, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Daniels was shot in the leg March 21 in an incident that began when a Wal-Mart employee was shoved inside the store, Department of Public Safety officials said. Police then found the suspects outside, and that's when the fight began.

Department of Public Safety officials said it appears there was a struggle for Daniels' gun during the melee. Three gunshots were fired in all. One suspect, 21-year-old Enoch Gaver, was shot and killed. A second suspect, 28-year-old David Gaver, was shot in the abdomen. He was released from the hospital Tuesday and booked on charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest.

Eight officers suffered minor injuries, including cuts and bruising. Another Wal-Mart employee who tried to help suffered a broken arm.

Seven suspects, including two juveniles, were arrested on aggravated assault charges. Authorities say the suspects appear to all be related and were living out of a Chevrolet Suburban SUV with Idaho plates. The other adults arrested have been identified as 55-year-old Peter Gaver, 52-year-old Ruth Gaver, 27-year-old Nathan Gaver, and 29-year-old Jeramiah Gaver.

All four face counts of aggravated assault and resisting arrest in a way that caused injury. The male and female juvenile suspects were not identified.

I like Walmart for certain things. One thing I don't like about it, it attracts a lower class of human, some seem they are one generation removed from Cro Magnon.

I go to the black Walmart, I'm not afraid to go to the black Walmart. My wife refuses to go the black Walmart and will only go to the white Walmart across town.

On Saturday afternoon while I was in the black Walmart, two gangs crossed paths and started a screaming fight. The white manager stood by with his arms folded and didn't get involved, or call the cops.
I'm blocked in the checkout line and it slows to a crawl, and I'm a dead man if shooting breaks out.....I really wished I had a carry permit with a gun. Well one gang had enough and backed down and the scream fight ended. So now I'll only go to the black Walmart in the mornings before the gangs arrive.

We have a customer in NE Quebec located in a smaller town with a Wal-Mart. It is the only hardware type store in town, so I have gone into it.

Was in a Wal Mart in Milledgeville, GA around 25 years ago, and that may have been the last time I have been in a Wal-Mart in the U.S.

If/when I have to go there, I like to make it before 9 AM.

Usually the walmartians aren't awake that early.

For me it is about 8:15AM out by 8:30.

I can't imagine how smart one is not by popping in at 2AM and then can't understand my his Mercedes gets jacked and he rides around in the trunk except for stops by his ATM where he is let out for some more cash so the boys can buy more crack.

This is not that hard to figure out

During the winter a lot of people from the Northern part of the US move down to Arizona. I have met a lot of these people over the years and they mostly seem very nice. I do have to admit they were the "gun show" crowd. Some cities like Yuma make a big deal out of it. From what I have seen Phoenix seems to be positive about "snowbirds" also but not as much as Yuma ect. This year I had some extra business to do in Maricopa county and it was during all the football and spring training times. It was very different. There was a large number of people camped out in the local Walmart parking lot. Some pan handling or trying to sell stuff. That Walmart was not even close to the sporting events. All the motels were overpriced and full. Even Gila Bend motels! The Idaho license plates says a lot.

Wow! Good to know Cottonwood itself isn't going to the birds!

Elvis filmed a movie there. If you can call it a movie . . . Stay Away, Joe (1968)

Stay Away, Joe is a 1968 Western-comedy film, with musical interludes, set in modern times and starring Elvis Presley, Burgess Meredith and Joan Blondell. The film was based on the 1953 novel by Dan Cushman, a satirical farce. The film reached number 65 on the Variety weekly national box office chart in 1968. -wiki
