Well, they asked me every day for a week to convert to windows 10 before it isn't free anymore. After too many beers I punched the button. and woke up this morning to welcome to windows 10. I called my computer mentor and she said go ahead, they are doing good. I switched to windows 10 without a hitch. Works great! Havent had a single problem and anyone would be hardpressed to find a flaw.

Edited to add: I'm currently running 8.1
seems to be OK so far

but in reality windows 8.1 has the same feature or at least the same capability
That's what I have Grump. I'm not doing anything until I talk to my SolidWorks contact.
Depends on your year. 2014 will not run on 10, 15 may after the next service pack which I think is 5 or when 16 comes out. It was all over solidworks forum this morning and yesterday.
My only problem is now my printer wont work. Humm that blows I have some files I need printed ASAP so they can be signed and mailed off.
So far so good.
My wife installed the free version today on all our computers.
So far so good.
I did Erica,s laptop, if it is a no go we have nothing of value in it until she goes back to school. So if I must I can wipe it clean and go back to the screwy win 8.1.
If it works okay I will let the other computer update. I plan of giving it some time first.
sticking with 7 for as long as I can, just as I did with XP. Want no part of 8. May try 10 on the Acer note book with Cortana turned off.
Read we have 5 years of support still for 7. I'm sure that's what they will stick with at work..
