First the company ran like cowards and then they tried to rip us off. Hope their online and catalog operations get flushed as well. I have zero sympathy for a gun seller that tries to placate anti-gunners by pretending not to be a gun seller. To then turn around and try to squeeze us for every damned cent was just to add blatant greed to their despicable cowardice.
high priced mofo's serves them right[;)]
I refuse to order because they can't be trusted.
hehehehe......hope they call or email me about it.

Drove by there this morning and yup the doors are shut down[:)][:)][8D][8D]

should have left a note on their door.
something ending with "ha ha..."
they were a big glenn beck sponsor
They are the kings of gouging:
These are right after Sandyhook when everyone went insane[:0]
Here is the story with even more outrageous prices for stuff.

If you've priced real estate, you know DIRT AIN'T CHEAP!!
Yes, it is good ol fashoined capitalism and the American way. They have every right to crank pricing and try to become overnight millionares and I have every right to sit back and spend my money somewhere else. I refuse to pay inflated prices due to "free market", I refuse to support anyone who sees an opprotunity to make extra money by cranking prices.
It is poor morals, poor business, greed has taken over, the lust for money has stolen a lot of souls. If the only way to make money is by cranking prices and taking advantage of th consumer then may you go straight to hell because I will never spend a dime with you. Even if CTD came back with prices 1/2 of Walmart pricing I will not buy from them.
When it comes to how businesses treat me, the consumer I never give second chances, prove to me once that you care more about money than taking care of customers and I will celebrate in the hopefull failure of your busniess!!
Then came Sandy Hoke, The internet CTD cratered under pressure and jacked prices sky high. The McKinney store followed suit and claimed they should not sell ammo for retail when A) no one had any and people were ok with paying the insane prices online and GB. Which was a lame excuse but it did have some logic. The error was he was forcing his customers to pay prices that everyday non gun folk were paying and that pissed us off.
Later they begin to claim they were buying it from less than reputable dealers/wholesalers and were paying a premium to get the ammo just to have it on their shelf when no one else did. This could have been true, but he still over looked the fact he was catering to those once in a lifetime customers at the expense of his cire group, which he had built a very soid core customer base.
It appears his logic was hey, its expensive but if you need it I have it on the shelf. Good point. But to what cost?
This employee goes on to tell me they are going to expand abd take the entire building. The owner was trying to fast track his plans and pay for the expansion off the back of the panic.
His plan failed. Last time I went in, there was not a single employee I recognized except for the tall skinny redhead who always asked if she could but in a tone that said please dont ask me to do anything. lol
I knew it was lights out when half his staff quit at once and they posted a sign saying they would open later and close earlier. I posted tgat pic here on GB. That was the last time I stopped there.
Also worth noting, a guy in the parking lot said gebos next door was carrying guns and ammo. I stopped in at a later date and they did add a big fancy gun dept. It was really nice. I joked to an employee they put CTD out of biz and he smiled and said no, they did it for us. Pretty smart putting a gun dept in when a place big as CTD was failing!
I grabbed some .22 ammo and left. I posted this ammo score on here as well.
the CTD story is an odd one. The first was opened by 3 guys. 1 promptly passed away and after a couple of years they were on a win streak. one of the remaning partners sold out. So it left one owner. Some how he thought it would be a good idea to let a buddy open a store in mckinney tx. That guy opened a great store. wall to wall ecerything! He was doing so well riding on the back of his buddy that the original guy begin to lose money. So he begin to focus more on the online sales. Then a group decided to buy out the online store so he sold it. While ft was called a corp store the people on the phone/internet had no connection to Ft Worth. In fact the ft worth store was supplying the internet side.

Michael Tenny was one of the original guys. I have not talked with him in a very long time.
The Ft Worth store closed a year ago. I smile when I drive by every day on my way to work.
They closed that location and opened under another name in far east Fort Worth because of the reputation they gained in the gun world.

I refuse to spend a dime with those people.

Whether I choose to purchase from them or not, I hate to see any business that promotes the hobby of firearms/shooting go under.

Long time back I bought some stuff from them. Cannot recall what it was, but it was a good deal. So it must have been when it was a young operation.
In the early years they were the bomb. I remember buying surplus disaster blankets all day for $5. I would put one under my tent and one inside. Help extend the life of the tent and made the rocks easier to walk on.
First thing I bought from them was my 1st benchmade knife. $136 out the door, $64 cheaper than the next guy.
